Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire turbojet.
America copied this version and called it the: Wright J65
The Sapphire engine is a turbojet with an axial-flow compressor and an annular combustion chamber of the Armstrong Siddeley vaporising type. It was the first British turbojet to be type-tested at over 4450kg (10000lb) static thrust.

Varients of this engine were used to power the RAF’s Javelin, Hunter and Victor aircraft and was also used on the English Electric P1A.
